Highly Anticipated Instrumental Album Now Available Internationally

Temptress - Violin Solo Album Cover(December 30, 2014) Calgary, Alberta – Dubbed the “Queen of Pop Violin”, Sophie Serafino has been entrancing international audiences for years. Now making her home in Calgary, the Australian violinist and entertainer is unveiling the first of two new albums that were recorded and produced in collaboration with several iconic Canadian musical talents.

Produced by Juno Award-winning guitarist, Pavlo, and remixed by multi-platinum award-winning producer/songwriter, Rob Wells (Justin Bieber, Colin James, Backstreet Boys), ‘Temptress’ is an alluring journey from loss to fear to freedom. It’s a spicy mix of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and classical crossover pop.

“This album has been more than two years in the making, and I’m so proud and excited to share it with everyone,” says Sophie Serafino. “My violin is an extension of my voice and has enabled me to travel the world, and ‘Temptress’ is a representation of all the international sounds that I’ve been fortunate to experience. This record conveys feelings that I’ve struggled to describe with words from deep sadness to great confidence to coy seduction. It’s amazing to be able to bring listeners with me on this audible journey.”

Temptress’ has something for everyone from popular remakes of great classics by Vivaldi, Khachaturian and Karl Jenkins to the title track, which Serafino describes as “a playful, fun piece that is like a jam on a beach on a lazy Saturday afternoon when the evening is about to begin.”

A collaboration with Amy Sky resulted in one of Serafino’s favourite tracks on the album – ‘Last to Know.’ She says it was one of the first pieces written for the album on the tail end of recovering from ending a relationship. Serafino describes it as “wistful, melancholy, yet hopeful.”

“’Temptress’ is about luring people into a musical world, and not sexual in orientation at all,” says Serafino. “Someone once told me I was so animated on stage and that my repertoire was so wide that I took them on a journey and tempted them into a musical world to hear new and different sounds.”
